Hello! Thank you Emma, Josh, Caleb, Elianah, Noah, and Elsie Mae for inviting 2 Sisters 1 Faith to
5 Kids and a Little Sister! I'm Hannah (left), and I'm Sophia (right).
We are two girls that love God and are striving to live out God's gift
of daily life to the fullest. Today, we will give you a basic recipe for
roasting a chicken. We couldn't decide what to name this recipe... so
it's just roasting a chicken!!!
1 chicken Half a lemon
Four to eight cloves of garlic Olive oil
Salt Pepper
1/4 C water Three sprigs of fresh Thyme
Fresh rosemary (optional)
First you set out all your ingrediants.
You will need...
Thyme (about 1 Tbsp) Terragon (about 1 tsp)
Pre-heat your oven to 425 F. Wash your chicken and set in your roasting pan.
I roast my chickens upside down because it makes the breast meat really tender and juicy.
But it makes no difference how you roast yours!
First,
crush your garlic and rub it all over the chicken. Then, pour some
olive oil over the top of your chicken and rub thoroughly. Salt and
pepper to your liking. In the picture, I salted the chicken first by
accident. Whoops!
Next sprinkle the thyme on top.
Then do the same with your terragone.
You don't have to add terragon. I just like the flavor it gives.
Sometimes I put a half of a lemon inside the chicken.
It's not my favorite thing to do, but it does add a nice flavor :)
now put about a fourth cup of water into the pan.
This makes more juices to keep the meat from drying out.
If you want to use the fresh rosemary, place about two sprigs
around the chicken. Do the same with the thyme.
Cook the chicken for 45 minutes on 425 F.
Then lower the temp. to 350 F.
Cook for 1 hour.
Yum!!!!
