A new month
02 JulyI can hardly believe it... It's already July second! The month of June went by so fast! In 25 days my little sister Elianah will be turning six! And, 4th of July is in 2 days! Sadly, there is a fire ban here because of all the fires around us, so there will be no fire works this year, again... Oh well. Better safe than sorry.
The new moon is on the ninth or the tenth, depending on your clock time, and Tisha B'av (the fast of Av) is on the eighteenth. That day is the day that the first and second temples in Jerusalem were destroyed.
But, on lighter notes, today's Proverb was out standing. It was Proverbs 2, and if you haven't read it yet, you really should go and read it right now. This weeks Torah portion is called Matot, which is Numbers 30:2-32:42. Go and read it, and also the Haftarah, which is Jeremiah 1:1-2:28, 3:4, and 4:1-2. Also, if you can handle one more thing to read this week, read the Brit Chadasha, which is found in Philippians 3:7-21.
And there's no skipping ahead! I like to read the Torah portion first, then the Proverb and the Psalm , then the Haftarah, and then the Brit Chadasah. I like having things done in order, or else I'm in total chaos!
I hope that you enjoy reading this weeks Torah portion, and all the other things I listed to read.
Thanks for reading today's post! Please comment!
