Bible memory... Day four!
08 JulyThis week, we're going to work on memorizing the rest of Psalm 2. Try to think about the words as you're memorizing them. Here it is.
"I inscribe for a law: Yahweh has said to me, 'You are my son. Today I have brought you forth.
'Ask of Me, and I make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.
'Break them with a rod of iron, dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.' "
And now, be wise, O sovereigns, be instructed, You rulers of the earth.
Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Chosen, lest he be enraged, and you perish in the way, for His wrath is soon to be kindled.
Blessed are all those taking refuge in him.
That is the six verses of Psalm 2. You can try to memorize one verse one day, so that by next week, you'll be ready to move onto Psalm 3!
A few notes...
1. The beginning of Psalm 2 starts out with David asking why the people of the world are always fighting, and why the nations are always waging war. David talks about how the Kings and rulers plot against Yahweh and his Messiah (Yeshua)and then how Yahweh will not let that stand, that he laughs and mocks them.
2. Then Yahweh says, "But I, I have set my sovereign on Zion, my set apart mountain."
He is saying here, that he is in charge. Not them. The rest couple verses have a similar story.
3. Then David says that the Kings and rulers need to listen to instruction. Even Kings need to be put on the right track, sometimes! The whole bible talks about instruction, and how we as people need to take that instruction from the people that are older and wiser than us.
Blessed are those taking refuge in Him!
Today's Proverb is Proverbs 8. Please be sure to read it and the Torah portion!
