Let's be thankful!
29 OctoberA lot of the women today think that in order to prove themselves, they need to take jobs and work for other men that are not their husbands so that they don't get pushed under the carpet. Not so! It is a woman's job to stay at home and care for her household and her family. Proverbs 31 talks about a women that is 'far above rubies, and works willing with her hands.' Yahweh gave women a job; to be a help meet to their husbands. He made us to think differently than men, so that we can help them with the job that they were given, which is protecting their families! It is an honor to stay home and care for the family, but some women see it as a punishment! That is not the way that God set things up to be!
You'll notice that in Genesis, when the serpent was tempting Eve with the fruit, the first mistake that Eve made was that she acknowledged what the serpent said. Then she began to think that there was truth in what he was saying. She ate the fruit, and then brought it to her husband. It was then Adam's job to step in and protect his family, but he didn't! He took the food that his wife had brought him and ate it. So you see, Eve didn't play her part as a good helpmeet, and Adam didn't play his part as the family protector.
I've heard some women use the bible to fight their feminist battles, saying that because Eve helped her husband, they got punished! Eve simply used very poor judgment and wisdom, and was tempted by the tempter, Ha Satan. And then when God questioned them about, they began to play the blame game and point the finger at each other! You can imagine how good this went over. God first punished the serpent, for tempting. Then God punished Eve, for being tempted and not doing the job he gave her to do. Then God punished Adam, for not protecting himself and his wife. If you slack for one second, things can turn ugly very quickly.
As women, we should be thankful for the job God has given us. Our job is very important, and it shouldn't be ridiculed or looked down upon. We should always be thankful, for every aspect of being a woman.
This weeks challenge is to find ways that you are thankful for being a woman. You can comment here, or you can go to Shining Star's website and comment there.
Thank you for reading today! Please comment and tell us what you think about womanhood!
