Shining Stars Thanks Giving challenge: Creation
07 NovemberToday, the Thanks Giving challenge fell under the creation category. What are you thankful for in creation? Here are a few ideas of why you should be thankful for creation:
1. For plants and trees. Without trees and green things growing on earth, we would have no oxygen to breath.
2. For our bodies of water. Without water, we would die of thirst, and so would the trees and the plants. Earth would be a desolate wasteland.
3. For the sun. Without sunlight, as people we would never function. We would die.
4. For bees. Without the bees, there would be nothing to pollinate the plants, in which case we would die of starvation from nothing to eat.
5. For fires. Before the world was polluted with all this junk and people didn't live anywhere, when a forest got too thick to where nothing was growing on the ground because of lack of sunlight, God would send and still does a fire to burn all the trees. It looks desolate, but it really helps to thin out a forest and it's the way God designed it to be. Unfortunately, there are so many people living in places like the forest, and the natural fires have to be put out as quickly as possible, so as not to burn down anyone's home.
Those are some of the things that fall under the natural pattern of the earth. Now let's get into some man made things of which we ought to be thankful for.
1. Shelter. Without shelter in rain storms, you would get soaked and possibly very ill. You wouldn't to be out in the sun too much, either. Heat strokes are an easy occurrence when you're traveling or hiking or simply playing around outside. And if you were out in the middle of no where when a blizzard came....
2. Gas wells. Without gas, you wouldn't be able to drive or have heat to your house. No lights, no nothing. It'd be just like Laura Ingalls times (candle light, horses, ect.) Not that that's a bad thing. I think it'd be awesome to live like that! Only, no more quick drives to our friends house. Hmm...
3. Bridges. Without these, it would be very difficult to get around rivers and such. You could try to drive around, but you might be going all the way to California by the time you got to a spot where you could cross. Or, you could try to take the ferry across (and we all know how dangerous those can be.) Bridges are very vital to our everyday life, especially those who live near rivers and streams. Without bridges, it might be hard to get to your local grocery store. And if all that we had was a ferry, and with the amount of people that live in our towns and cities now, that would be a long, long wait...
4. Fire engines, police cars, and ambulances. Without fire engines, house fires could destroy whole cities. Half of London was destroyed when a baker didn't put out his fire properly. Thousands of people lost their homes. Police men keep order and make sure that everyone is following the law. Without them, our towns would be a mess without someone keeping order. Ambulances take hurt people to hospitals so they can get better care. They are very important.
