Psalm six
18 DecemberSorry I haven't posted anything for memory in a while, but here's Psalm six.
O Yahweh, do not rebuke me in your displeasure, nor discipline me in your wrath.
Show favor to me, O Yahweh, for I am fading away; O Yahweh, heal me, for my bones have been troubled.
And my being has been greatly troubled; and you, O Yahweh--till when?
Return, O Yahweh, rescue my life! O, save me for your loving commitment's sake!
For in death there is no remembrance of You, who gives You thanks in Sheol?
I have grown weary with my groaning; every night I flood my bed; I drench my couch with my tears.
My eyes have grown dim because of grief; it grows old because of all my adversaries.
Depart from me, all you workers of wickedness; for Yahweh has heard the voice of my weeping.
Yahweh has heard me pleading; Yahweh receives my prayer.
Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled; they turn back suddenly, ashamed.
And I haven't posted anything on the weekly Torah portion in a while, so I'm sorry I slacked off of that. I'll try to get back on it. Here's this week's Torah portion.
Torah: Vayechi
Gen. 47: 28-50:26
Haftarah: 1 Kings 2:1-12
Brit Chadashah: Luke 4:31-5:11
Proverbs: 18-21
In this weeks Torah portion we finished out Genesis with the story of Joseph. Jacob blesses Ephraim and Manasseh and then all twelve of his sons, each with a blessing that suits each one and then dies pretty much immediately after. It's a very interesting story. I encourage all of you to read it and discuss what it means.
Thanks for reading today and please comment!

I like that Psalm.
ReplyDeleteThe end of that Psalm is very encouraging. I'm going to commit that to memory, I think.
