We wait in hope for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield...
22 AprilThis is such an amazing Psalm! In know it's a little bit out of order, but I'm posting it anyway. It's so amazing! This Psalm has many different 'parts', I guess you could say.
Sing joyfully to Yahweh, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise Yahweh with the harp; make music to him on the ten stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
The first three verses in Psalm 33 tell about how to praise Yahweh. Is it just me, of does God really love music?
For the word of Yahweh is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
Yahweh loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
These verses tell of Yahweh's character as loving and kind and just God, who never breaks his promises or tells lies.
By the word of Yahweh were the heavens made, their starry hosts by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear Yahweh; let all the people of the world revere him.
For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
Yahweh foils the plans of the nations;he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
Verses 6 through 10 talk about Yahweh's amazing might, his power.
But the plans of Yahweh stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
This might be my favorite verse in this Psalm. Yahweh is saying right here in this passage that he will Never change, no matter what, he doesn't change his laws or his mind, meaning that his law, his Torah, will stay the same Forever!!! If anybody has any other verses relating to Psalms 11, please don't hesitate to comment and share them with me. I would be very glad to have more verses about this subject.
Blessed is the nation who's God is Yahweh, the people he chose for his inheritance.
Blessed is the nation who's God is Yahweh! How true are those words! But it makes you wonder; who is America's God? Who does America worship and trust in, or any other country right now, for that matter. What happens to the nation that doesn't trust in Yahweh? I don't know; just a thought for you to think about.
From heaven Yahweh looks down and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--
he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all it's great strength it cannot save.
In other words, Yahweh sees everything! He knows what you're thinking, he knows you better than any one else in the world. No matter how great you are, Yahweh sees you, knows you.
But the eyes of Yahweh are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
Yahweh takes care of those who love and trust him. He protects them from danger and comforts and encourages them. But that doesn't mean that we won't get tested. We could get tested very hard, but that doesn't mean that God doesn't love us any more, does it? No, of course not! Yahweh tests us because he loves us. James talks about rejoicing under trial. I encourage all of you to open your bible and read the whole book of James. Don't freak out, it's not that long; only five chapters. :)
We wait in hope for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield.
IN him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Yahweh, even as we put our hope in you.
I'll leave you with that, to ponder all of that amazing stuff we just read. Such a worshipful Psalm!
Please remember to comment and give me verses relating to anything that popped out at you in this Psalm, because I would love to hear them! Thank you so much for reading and stopping by!
Shalom,
Emma

That is a good Psalm!
ReplyDeleteI've often thought about who America worships. It's a good question. Thanks for bringing it up.
