Miracles are Still Happening by Sophia Morgan
27 JanuaryThis encouraging and amazing article is written by my good friend, Sophia. It's a real reminder that miracles happened, they're happening, and they will happen. Thanks, Sophia!
Shalom to you all! I would like to share with you something that
was absolutely miraculous that happened to someone in our family today,
but first, I would like to tell you what God has been revealing to us
prior to this miracle.
Our family has been recently reading the book of Matthew. God's been revealing to us some incredible things about faith and trust.
We took note of the fact that when Yeshua (Jesus) performed miracles,
people knew that without a doubt he would heal them, however that would
present itself. We also took note of verses like this, stating that
Yeshua didn't perform miracles when there was a lack of faith or trust. Read Matthew 6:4-6 --
"Yeshua said to them, "a prophet is not without honor, except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home." He could not do any miracles there except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith." (NIV)So, obviously, NOTHING is impossible with God, so, the fact that he couldn't do any miracles in his home town wasn't because He was incapable, it was because, yes, you guessed it, their lack of faith. Read Matthew 17:14-20 --
"When Yeshua and his followers came back to the crowd, a man came to Yeshua and knelt before him. "Lord, have mercy on my son," he said. "He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him." "You unbelieving and perverse generation," Yeshua replied, "How long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me." Yeshua rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment. Then the disciples came to Yeshua in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." (NIV)Wow. Faith and trust are the key sources to miracles. Of course, sometimes Yeshua does perform miracles for those who are still somewhat lacking. See John 4:43-53 --
"After the two days he left for Galilee. (Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, for they also had been there. Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death. “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.” The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.” The man took Jesus at his word and departed. While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.” Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and his whole household believed."But as you can see, the Royal Official still asked him, no, begged him, to heal his son. Not to mention, he took the time to go to where Yeshua was (probably a days journey), and ask him to heal his son. That is at least faith the size of mustard seed.
Anyway, one woman in particular really had this on her heart (we'll call her Sarah), and was truly praying that God would grant her the trust and faith she needed so that He could use her to perform His miracles, or even so that she could witness His miracles. As most all of us should know from experience, when you ask something of God, He doesn't always just hand it to you. He gives you the opportunity to test it out. Agreed? With that said, let me tell you her story.
This morning Sarah and her family of five woke up with only six eggs and two chickens in their fridge and freezer. They didn't have anything as far as finances go, and her husband wasn't getting paid for three more days. "Here we go." She prayed. "I'm asking for a miracle."
She was trying to make food stretch, so was only preparing the bare minimum for meals. At lunch time she warmed a can of beans for her and her children, and there were still some hungry tummies asking for more food. Once again she prayed, "God, please show me what to do."
She felt God telling her, "You have food to eat. Tell me what you need for today, and trust Me for tomorrow." After that she decided she would cook the rest of the eggs in the fridge and would trust Him for tomorrow.
On her way into the kitchen to cook the eggs, her husband walks through the door with bags of burgers and fries for everyone. "I knew you all were hungry, so I decided to bring you all some food." He said, with a smile on his face.
Technically, this wasn't possible. They had NO money. NONE. Not to mention her phone was dead and her charger was broken so she had no way of contacting her husband and telling him what was happening. "How could this be?" She kept wondering.
Her husband then told her of how his boss had sold some extra supplies and got quite a bit of money from it. He had decided to split the proceedings between his employees. It came to $200 each, just enough to get them through until the next paycheck.
Sarah stood there in awe and thanked her Savior and Awesome Provider for letting her be part of a miracle. Sure, she could have contacted family and asked to borrow some grocery money, her husband could have asked his boss for his paycheck early (which in some cases is necessary, but they felt like they needed to trust God in this situation)... These were ways to take it into their own hands and fix their own problems, but instead, they decided to have faith, and trust that Yahweh would provide. In result, they experienced a miracle.
I hope this has been a blessing to all of you readers. May Yahweh bless you, and may He give us ALL that kind of faith so that we can trust that He will provide and that HE will heal.
Shalom to you all,
Sophia
