Love
23 AugustLove is patient. Love is kind. It down not envy, it down not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, love is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth, It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always endures. Love never fails.
That is from 1 Corinthians 13. What a powerful passage of scripture! Love is so strong and powerful!
Out of love we are to obey God and his commands. Out of love God protects his people. Out of love he sent his precious son to die for us.
"Yahweh, Yahweh, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin."
(Exodus 34:6,7)
"Yahweh is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love..."
(Psalm 103:8)
"For as high as the heavens are above the earth so great is His love for those who fear Him!"
(Psalm 103:11)
"But from everlasting to everlasting, Yahweh's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children-- with those who keep His covenant and remember to obey His precepts."
(Psalms 103:17-18)
"Yahweh you God is with you, a mighty warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you, in His love He will not longer rebuke you; He will rejoice over you with singing!"
(Zephaniah 3:17
These are only a few in the many times it speaks of Yahweh's love for us. The fact that such a wonderful God would even notice us is baffling, much less love us.
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has torment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."
(1 John 4:18)
If we have the love of Yeshua in out lives, in our hearts, we need not be afraid. Because perfect love drives out fear.
"Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
(Isaiah 41:10)
And this verse from Isaiah just confirmed it. Do not fear, for I am with you! God is love, and He drives out fear.
"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are m disciples, if you love one another."
(John 13:34-35)
"My command to you is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down his life for his friends."
(John 15:12-13)
I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, but Abba keeps speaking scriptures into my heart so I'm finding them and writing them down. I hope that this is encouraging to some one. May you have a blessed day.
